A cinematic processor with a generative mode. Three engines run
at the same time, in one fixed chain, on your material.
Nothing is switched between. Capture thirty seconds of something you
already recorded, latch it, and it keeps turning while BLOOM breaks it into
grains and TIDE puts it in a room — transforming itself under picture for
minutes, with nobody watching.
The three engines
01
FRACTURE
Retained loop
one tick per second · capture stops the history
It never stops listening. You get to decide a phrase was good
after it has gone — and it is still there, held still while
everything downstream keeps working on it.
Try
Play something. Decide afterwards that it was good: hit CAPTURE and the
last 1.5 seconds stay. Set Division to 1/4 and only the tail keeps
circling — divisions come from the end of the capture.
02
BLOOM
Granular cloud
overlapped four deep · the sum is flat
Hold a note and it becomes a cloud — continuous, though it is made of
pieces, and no louder for it.
Every control that changes its character arrives at zero, so out of the
box the cloud is the pedal's, sample for sample. SCATTER loosens where
each grain is read and when the next one fires. REVERSE sends a share of
them backwards. FEEDBACK lets the cloud hear itself — repeating
underneath, or folded back through the grains until the pitch stacks.
Try
Hold one note: a pad. Take SCATTER to a quarter and the metallic edge
under it goes. Then set FEEDBACK to a minute and walk away — the phrase
keeps changing instead of repeating.
03
TIDE
Diffused moving tail
unequal delays · 4.2 kHz in the loop only
A tail that opens and darkens instead of repeating. Nothing in it ever
sits perfectly still.
Try
Space at 425 ms, decay at 0.46: a dry chord leaves a tail that widens as
it goes. Push Motion to 100 % and it breathes out of phase between the
speakers.
Installation
Three files, three folders, and one first launch.
App
MIRÓ 1.app goes in /Applications.
VST3
MIRÓ 1.vst3 goes in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3.
Audio Unit
MIRÓ 1.component goes in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.
First launch
Right-click MIRÓ 1 and choose Open. macOS asks once, and only once.
Full install notes.
Requires
macOS 11 or later, Apple Silicon.
Hardware — in progress
The plugin is the desktop twin of a pedal that is still being built.
Running
The three engines exist as firmware on a Daisy Pod and process audio on
real hardware today. A one-way USB MIDI link reports the pedal's
controls to the plugin.
Building
A 3D-printed enclosure — a tray and a face plate held by four visible
M3 screws. The models are cut; the dimensions have not yet been
confirmed against the physical board.
Next
A dedicated carrier board around a Daisy Seed2 DFM, replacing the
development pod with actual product hardware.
